Reading Autauga County Busted Mugshots
A booking in Autauga County starts with an arrest. An agency brings someone to the Metro Jail. Staff there open a custody record. It lists a booking number, the intake date, charges, and bond details, and it may include an identification photo. Two agencies feed this jail. The Prattville Police Department and the Autauga County Sheriff's Office both book arrestees there. Pine Level has no police force of its own. It leans on ACSO for law enforcement. Millbrook is a wrinkle. Its police arrests usually land at Elmore County Jail, so check that facility instead.
A mugshot documents one thing. It shows that a person was processed at a given moment. Charges and bail can shift after a court appearance. For a dismissal, plea, acquittal, or conviction, the court's case-action summary is the source that counts.
What does "booking" mean? Booking is the jail's administrative intake after an arrest. It is not arraignment, an early court proceeding, and not disposition, which is how a case ends up resolved.
Autauga County Booking Record Fields
The retired ACSO roster split its display into short list cards and fuller profiles. Cards carried the core fields you see below. Profiles could add age, gender, race, an address, the arresting agency, and a larger photograph. Those details describe the old interface only. The current app does carry the Metro Jail roster, but ACSO has made no field-by-field promise about it.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name and booking number | The identity label and unique intake reference used by the jail. |
| Booking date and time | When intake occurred, which may differ from the incident or arrest date. |
| Charge label | The charge recorded at booking. |
| Bond | A release condition or amount that may change after court review. |
| Arresting agency | The office that made or presented the arrest, not necessarily the prosecutor. |
| Booking photograph | An identification image taken during processing, not proof of the alleged act. |
Two fields deserve caution. Court date and holding facility were never consistent on the former public list. Assume neither. To confirm identity, compare middle names, suffixes, booking numbers, ages, dates, and agencies. A face by itself is a weak check. Dates deserve care too. Incident, arrest, booking, release, filing, and publication dates each mark different events.
Note: A zero bond entry can stem from several procedural causes.
Request Autauga County Busted Mugshots
ACSO publishes no booking-photo request form, fixed fee, response deadline, or online delivery policy. Its FAQ is narrower. The person who filed a report may appear in person with valid photo identification to get a sheriff report copy. An intake sheet or booking image is a different ask. Call first. Name the exact record you want.
- Record the person’s full name, approximate booking date, and booking number if known. Confirm which agency made the arrest.
- Call ACSO at 334-361-2500 or Metro Jail at 334-361-2600. Ask which custodian holds the booking record and photograph.
- Request the precise item for inspection or copy under Alabama’s public-records law. Ask whether it is releasable and what redactions may apply.
- Ask for the fee, response estimate, and delivery choices before work starts. Request the legal basis in writing if any part is withheld.
- Use the Circuit Clerk for a certified disposition. The jail cannot certify how the charge ended in court.

Metro Jail: 334-361-2600
What if ACSO comes back empty-handed? Recheck the spelling, the date, the arresting agency, and the housing site. The housing site matters most. It matters for bookings made during Metro Jail's evacuation. A narrow request with a date attached beats asking for every record tied to a name.
Alabama Law for Busted Mugshots
Alabama Code §36-12-40 gives a general right to inspect public writings. That right has limits. Juvenile confidentiality, redaction, an active investigation, expungement, and other restrictions can all block access. When a custodian withholds a record, ask for the legal basis. No Alabama statute specifically governs booking-photo publication or pay-to-remove schemes. That gap does not make a fee demand safe. It also does not leave you without a remedy. Start with the originating agency, the court, and a publisher's documented free process. Steer clear of businesses that push urgency or promise total internet erasure.
The four secondary county publishers each handle free removals differently. Busted Newspaper offers a free "Remove a Listing" form. It covers supported legal outcomes and quotes a five-to-ten-day verification window. RecentlyBooked reviews removal requests free of charge. Grounds include dismissal, expungement, wrong person, outdated data, juvenile status, or duplicate entries. Arrests.org links an opt-out from individual profiles. Its current terms were unavailable. Mugshots.zone provides a "Remove Mugshot" contact subject. It promises nothing on eligibility or timing. One more wrinkle exists. After a source changes, a search engine's stale-cache tool can clear an old result snippet. The source page itself stays online, though, if the publisher never removes it.
Correcting Autauga County Arrest Data
Alabama law splits two jobs apart. It separates correcting government data from removing it across the wider internet. Section 41-9-645 lets a person ask the original agency to purge, modify, or supplement criminal information they believe is wrong or incomplete. A path to circuit-court review exists too. Name the exact entry. Hand over the record that proves the error. A fix at ACSO, ALEA, the clerk, or ADOC may not ripple through every other system right away.
Section 41-9-625 requires criminal-justice agencies to report dispositions. It also calls for removal from ALEA information for certain people released without charge or cleared through proceedings. Its reach is narrow. This is not a universal mugshot takedown. It does not order a newspaper, search engine, or aggregator to delete its copy.
Note: Save orders, corrected records, URLs, and correspondence so each custodian or publisher gets the same clear proof.
Expunging Autauga County Busted Records
Alabama lets adults clear records under Code chapter 15-27. Local practice wants two certified documents first. One is an ALEA criminal-history record. The other is a local case-action or arrest record. Once those are in hand, the current CR-65 petition goes to the Circuit Court in the county where the charge arose. The district attorney, the arresting agency, and the clerk all get served.
The ALEA expungement hub and the current CR-65 instructions control who qualifies. They also set the waiting periods and filing costs. Relief differs sharply by category. Nonconvictions, diversion cases, qualifying misdemeanors, and the narrow felony route each get their own treatment. Even a granted order leaves limited archival and agency access intact. True oblivion is not on the menu.
Afterward, ask ACSO directly how the order touches its booking record and photo. Then work each publisher's documented removal process. ACSO has no separate booking-photo takedown policy. And no honest process can promise every cached or copied image vanishes at once.
Juvenile Autauga County Mugshot Limits
A missing record can signal a legal limit rather than a gap. Alabama Code §§12-15-133 and 12-15-134 shield broad classes of juvenile material, including court, social, detention, medical, education, identifying, and law-enforcement records. Only named people and entities may see them, with narrow exceptions for adult transfers and court orders. Publication of a photo or identifying details is also restricted for some people charged as adults before conviction.
Juvenile sealing follows its own timing and conditions. Later destruction may be possible through a separate motion. These rules are not obstacles to outsmart. When the official roster withholds an entry or image, turn to the court and counsel for lawful access instead of an unofficial copy.
Archiving Autauga County Booking Photos
What stays on the web and what an agency keeps are different things. ACSO has published no Autauga-specific retention term for booking photographs. The Alabama Department of History framework governs instead. Approved Records Disposition Authorities set minimum periods under it. Local destruction then requires commission authority plus a Local Government Records Destruction Notice.
So ask ACSO directly. Which RDA series covers the booking record? What event starts the clock? Is the file still active? Was destruction ever authorized? An app migration or a vanished roster card proves nothing about destruction. Older permanent county material may sit with a clerk, a local repository, a library, microfilm, or an approved deposit site rather than the state archives. Search by record series and date. Don't assume some dedicated Autauga mugshot archive exists.
Find Autauga County Busted Mugshots
Start any lookup with custody status. Autauga has no working official browser roster right now. There is no fixed 24-hour, 48-hour, 72-hour, or weekly booking page. That points you to the official ACSO app and the jail phone for anyone in current custody. For a released person or an older booking, a records request is the way in.
- Open the official “Autauga County Sheriff AL” app and select Metro Jail. Inspect the live entry rather than assuming it duplicates the former website.
- Call Metro Jail to confirm identity, present custody, facility, charge, and bond. A quick release may remove someone from a current list.
- For a released or historical booking, request the dated intake record or photograph from ACSO.
- Use Alacourt or the Autauga Circuit Clerk after filing to trace the charge through the court case and final disposition.
- Use ADOC only for current state-prison custody. Use federal locators only when the responsible system is federal.
Why can a recent arrest be absent? Several reasons fit. The person may have been released, housed elsewhere, or entered under a different spelling. Or the arrest never showed in a separate feed, because Autauga does not publish one. An empty result does not mean no arrest happened.
Busted Mugshots Roster Moved
The official ACSO Inmate Search currently shows only "Please check back later for updates." There is no name or booking-number box. No date filter, and no current-versus-released control. No result list, photo, timestamp, or retention statement either. Old search snippets still describe a rich PHP roster. Those descriptions no longer match the live page.
| Roster item | Current web page | Former interface |
|---|---|---|
| Name or number search | Not available | Alphabet browsing and booking numbers on entries |
| Custody controls | Not available | Current and Released categories |
| Date controls | Not available | Newest-first and oldest-first sorting |
| Visible details | None | Name, booking date, charges, bond, agency, and profile fields |
| Booking photo | None | Thumbnail and profile image |
| Cadence and persistence | Not published | No authoritative public guarantee found |
The captured official inmate page shows the browser roster’s current status.
This bare interface supports turning to the phone and app instead. It does not prove the underlying booking records were destroyed.
Autauga County Busted Roster App
On September 17, 2025, ACSO made an announcement. Its free "Autauga County Sheriff AL" app now carries the current jail roster under the Metro Jail tab. This is not a generic directory listing. The agency named the app as the destination for custody information after the web system changed. It also encouraged users to turn on notifications.
For safety, install it through the official app share page.
Open the live Metro Jail entry and see which fields and photos are actually there. The announcement does not promise charge, bond, photo, release, archive, or date-search fields. And the app never replaces 911.
Note: When present custody truly matters, call the jail, because ACSO makes no update-lag guarantee for the app.
Autauga County Busted Booking Windows
The roster and a recent-bookings feed answer different questions. One names who is held right now. The other would list everyone booked during a set stretch, released or not. Autauga handles the first through its app. It publishes no separate official same-day or multi-day feed, so no fixed-window list exists from the county itself.
| Custody stage | Best Autauga source | Meaning and limit |
|---|---|---|
| Just booked or held now | ACSO app, then Metro Jail phone | Current custody only; fields, lag, and photo display are not promised. |
| Released county booking | Focused ACSO request | The person may have dropped from the current roster; request the intake record by date. |
| Filed court case | Alacourt or Circuit Clerk | Shows procedural events and disposition, not present physical custody. |
| Sentenced state prisoner | ADOC Inmate Search | Current state-prison custody, not ordinary county intake or historical results. |
| Federal or ICE custody | Responsible federal locator | Separate jurisdiction; not an Autauga booking feed. |
ACSO Recent News is selective. It may explain a major investigation. It does not log each intake. The old roster's newest-first option was just a sort control. It never covered a fixed period. If someone was booked and released before any current view, two steps remain. File a narrowly dated records request. Then check the court filing. The news feed shows the gap between agency stories and a complete arrest ledger.
Gaps in publication prove nothing. An ordinary jail admission may never earn a news release.
Where Autauga County Mugshots Appear
Check the official channels before any publisher's copy. ACSO holds the county intake material. The Circuit Clerk holds the court case, and ADOC holds current state-prison profiles. Local news runs on events, not completeness. Secondary county pages can surface a name or rough date, yet they may be late, stale, duplicated, or simply wrong.
- ACSO app and Metro Jail
- Official current-custody route. Photo and field display must be checked live.
- Alacourt and Circuit Clerk
- Official court path for filed charges, case events, and disposition.
- ADOC Inmate Search
- Official profile path for people currently held in Alabama state prison.
- Elmore-Autauga News
- Unofficial, event-driven reporting. An image may be a mugshot, license photo, surveillance still, or scene photo.
- County aggregator pages
- Unofficial discovery sources whose custody status, dates, and charge text require official confirmation.
Secondary hubs also publish Autauga County booking photos. Four are worth knowing: Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, Arrests.org, and Mugshots.zone. RecentlyBooked defaults to a 30-day window and refreshes several times a day. That schedule belongs to the site, not the sheriff's office. Arrests.org has shown empty or stale listings for Autauga. Mugshots.com has no working county hub here. Treat all of these as background next to official sources. A captured RecentlyBooked landing page is only secondary context.
Check any card you find for a date, then match it against the ACSO roster and the court handling the case. A photo that stays online says nothing about where someone is held today.
Autauga County Jail Reopened
Autauga County Metro Jail has 138 beds, 40 employees, and has served city and county inmates since May 2004. Its recent interruption is essential to an older booking search. The jail was evacuated in June 2024, and prisoners were housed elsewhere in Alabama while the building was renovated.
A county statement said renovations were substantially complete in February 2026. WSFA reported that Metro Jail reopened on April 1, 2026. A booking article from the closure period may therefore name a different housing jail even though Metro Jail is now the normal county destination. Confirm the facility for the specific date instead of treating an old housing field as current.
Note: A transfer changes physical custody, not necessarily which arresting agency or court owns the related record.
Autauga County Court Dispositions
Alacourt Just One Look is Alabama’s paid trial-court public-access service. Search by case number or party name, choose the correct county and court, and compare the filed charge with the intake label. For an in-person or certified copy, use the Autauga County Circuit Clerk at 134 North Court Street in Prattville, 334-358-6801.
The case-action summary is the bridge from accusation to outcome. It can show amendments, dismissal, nolle prosequi, plea, acquittal, conviction, or another resolution. A blank search is not proof of dismissal because spelling, filing lag, court jurisdiction, youthful-offender confidentiality, sealing, or expungement can affect results.
Arrest → booking and photo → custody roster → court filing → arraignment and bond review → disposition → possible sealing or expungement.
Autauga County Custody Alert Boundaries
The sheriff app is Autauga County’s clearest current local alert channel. VINELink may offer custody-status searches and notifications where live participating-agency data is available, but county participation should be checked before relying on a promised alert. Neither source replaces the court record or an emergency call.
The Alabama Victim Notification System draws a clear line: it covers people convicted and sentenced to ADOC custody and sends pretrial questions back to the county sheriff. Prior users were told to register again after the system’s March 2024 relaunch. Thus, an absent state alert does not show that no Autauga arrest occurred.
Alabama Prison and Federal Lookups
The ADOC Inmate Search covers people currently incarcerated in Alabama state prison. Search by the exact six-digit AIS number when known or by a first and/or last-name prefix. Name results are capped, and profiles commonly include a photograph, though a photo is not guaranteed. ADOC says the data updates daily, has no historical results, and excludes Youthful Offender Act inmates.
Federal systems serve narrower roles. The BOP locator searches by name and optional traits or by BOP, DCDC, FBI, or INS number, but it publishes no booking photographs. ICE’s locator finds people currently detained or recently released from immigration custody and is not a photo source. PACER holds federal court dispositions. No research established that Metro Jail is an ICE-contract facility.
Busted Mugshots by Autauga City
City geography changes the booking route. Prattville arrests generally flow to Metro Jail, Pine Level is sheriff-policed, and Millbrook lies mostly across the Elmore County line. Follow the arresting agency and named jail instead of relying on a city label alone.
- Prattville Busted Mugshots: Prattville Police has selective news and statistics, not a complete daily log; city arrestees are ordinarily booked at Metro Jail.
- Millbrook Busted Mugshots: Millbrook Police has no official search log, and department-sourced releases commonly identify Elmore County Jail as the destination.
- Pine Level Busted Mugshots: Pine Level has no city police department; ACSO provides law enforcement and the Metro Jail route.
Match the booking to the court with jurisdiction over the actual charge.
